Canadian are the Best Cities in the World
Resonance Consultancy has released its 2021 ranking of the World’s Best Cities using the most comprehensive city rankings on the planet.
Resonance is a leading advisor in tourism, real estate and economic development. Their team has conducted extensive research on ascendant cities, the key factors propelling their growth, and the qualities that shape our perception of urban centers as desirable places to live, visit and invest.
They only analyze cities with more than a million inhabitants and every Canadian city with a population greater than a million made it into the top 100.

Cities are scored on six core categories:
Place - The perceived quality of a city’s natural and built environments, including the weather, safety, scenery, landmarks, parks, and outdoor activities.
Product - A city’s key institutions, attractions and infrastructure. This includes airport connectivity, attractions, museums, university rankings, and convention centres.
People - The diversity and talent of the local population. This takes into account educational attainment with a bias toward a university education.
Prosperity - The presence of large recognizable corporations, productivity, income inequality, and the unemployment rate.
Programming - Measures culture, nightlife, dining, and shopping. This metric leans heavily on data from TripAdvisor.com.
Promotion - The number and frequency of media coverage, online articles, references and place-based recommendations influence our perception of cities. This metric leverages google search data and social media metrics.
